Job Description

FlexMission is urgently recruiting an experienced Facility Manager for a new client opening a warehouse in Almere. You will be responsible for facility operations, maintenance, construction and improvement projects, and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) compliance at the site.

This is a full-time, on-site position, working five days per week. The anticipated start date is November or December 2026, and we are looking for someone who can join at short notice.

Do you have a strong technical background, excellent organisational skills and experience in facilities management, maintenance projects and workplace safety? Are you fluent in English and confident coordinating different stakeholders? We would like to hear from you!

What will you do?

As Facility Manager, you will oversee facility operations and coordinate maintenance, construction and improvement projects. You will ensure that the site operates safely, efficiently and in compliance with applicable regulations.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Facility management and maintenance: Coordinate building repairs, upgrades and maintenance activities. Develop and manage preventive maintenance programmes.
• Project management: Manage construction, maintenance and improvement projects, monitoring progress, costs and quality.
• Procurement and supplier management: Review investment requests, work with suppliers and contractors, negotiate contracts and identify cost-effective solutions.
• Warehouse layout and optimisation: Identify opportunities to improve warehouse layouts and workflows by applying LEAN principles and operational best practices.
• Health, Safety and Environment (HSE): Coordinate safety activities, inspections and risk assessments, follow up on corrective actions and promote a strong safety culture.
• Communication and coordination: Act as the central point of contact for facility-related matters, working closely with management, landlords, suppliers, contractors and other stakeholders.

What do you bring?

• At least a completed secondary school education or an equivalent qualification. A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in facilities management, construction or maintenance projects and/or preventive maintenance.
• Strong technical knowledge of building management and construction practices.
• Knowledge of warehouse layouts, logistics operations and LEAN principles.
• Experience in supplier management and contract negotiations.
• Strong project management and organisational skills.
• Excellent analytical, mathematical and problem-solving abilities.
• Fluent English is essential. Dutch language skills are an advantage.
• Availability to work full-time, five days per week on-site in Almere.
• Availability to start in November or December 2026, preferably at short notice.
